“People shape place, and places shape people.”

Leah Davis Witherow

Yesterday, women from around Colorado gathered for Palmer's Women in Action luncheon in downtown Colorado Springs. Our inspiring event featured guest speaker Leah Davis Witherow, the Curator of History at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.

Leah shared her deep passion and joy for our region's intricate history through beautiful stories of incredible women and communities we often don't hear about. She explained the importance of topophilia - the affective bond with one's environment. She encouraged attendees to reflect on how studying the past helps us understand the present but, more importantly, helps create the future we want.
