As Colorado grows, protecting what makes our home special is vital.
Join us in conserving the land and water that unite us.
Over the past five years, southern Colorado has witnessed an extraordinary population growth, exceeding 10% annually, as more individuals are drawn to the area's unparalleled natural beauty and way of life.
Unless we make the choice to prioritize and protect the places we love, there is no guarantee that they will be there in the future.
At Palmer, we know that to reach our shared conservation goals, in addition to more resources to fuel our efforts, we need a culture shift that moves conservation from being an unnamed and intangible aspect of our lives (or worse, being perceived as inaccessible, misunderstood, and elitist) to becoming broadly recognized as essential to our individual and collective health and well-being.
Southern Coloradans made clear in our 2021 community listening sessions that the time to act is NOW to protect what we love most.
Palmer is uniquely positioned to meet the challenge of increasing the pace of land and water conservation in southern Colorado. We are one of the most respected conservation organizations in the state having spent the last 46 years developing the expertise, relationships, community trust, and organizational and programming framework to tackle Colorado’s most pressing and challenging water and land conservation needs. Palmer attracts high-quality talent, and its employees are some of the brightest and most innovative in the industry and demonstrate tenacious commitment to the work. Finally, with our focus on southern Colorado, a notoriously underserved and undervalued part of Colorado for conservation compared to other areas such as the Colorado River Basin, Northern Front Range, and mountain communities of central Colorado, we bring a laser-sharp focus on project quality, equality, and depth.

Unless we make the choice to protect the places we love, there is no guarantee that they will be there in the future. That’s why I am a proud donor member of Palmer Land Conservancy.
Since 1977, Palmer Land Conservancy has been working with communities to ensure that everything we love about the Colorado good life — including opportunities to connect to and enjoy the land — can be enjoyed by everyone now, and for future generations.
Join me and a passionate community of land lovers. Together, we can ensure the Colorado we enjoy today is here forever. https://www.palmerland.org/become-a-member
