Sinton Pond Creek Week Cleanup
Pitch in and make a splash at Sinton Pond! Join Palmer Land Conservancy for a community clean-up day at Sinton Pond Open Space, a Palmer-protected property, followed by lunch and drinks at Goat Patch Brewing, hosted in partnership with the Pikes Peak Group of the Sierra Club. This event is part of Fountain Creek Watershed District's Creek Week, the largest watershed-wide cleanup in the state of Colorado.
Originally the homestead site of dairy farmer Melvin Sinton, Sinton Pond Open Space has been protected by Palmer since 1996. The 13-acre public park is a haven for both local and migratory species of wildlife, making the cleanliness and preservation of its waters absolutely critical to the health of the local watershed. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn more about this property's unique history while we work together to clean up trash, litter, and debris from the park.
Palmer will provide equipment for the cleanup (gloves, trash bags, etc.), along with light snacks. Following the cleanup, we will plan to meet at Goat Patch Brewing for drinks and a pizza lunch, provided in partnership with the Pikes Peak Group of the Sierra Club.
