TENACITY: Women in Conservation
Join us on March 13
Do you cherish the natural beauty of Colorado and want to take action and make a positive impact to protect the land and water of our breathtaking state for future generations?
Mark your calendar for February 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m., and join the kick-off for the 2024 Women in Action luncheon series. This exciting event and ongoing series promises to unite like-minded and passionate women in a quarterly gathering to build a future of conservation—together.
At Palmer, we believe in the power of knowledge-sharing and community-building to forge a path forward for a healthy and vibrant future. That's why each quarter we feature a dynamic speaker who will delve into various conservation-related themes. We will host historians, artists, visionaries, chefs, water managers, public health and community leaders, and other change agents who will share their experiences, as well as their hopes, concerns, and vision for the future. Our goal is to ignite conversations, inspire action, and create a growing and supportive network of women who share a common goal: to protect land and water for the health and well-being of people and nature.
For our first Women in Action event of 2024, we are eager to introduce Amy McCoy. Growing up in the shadow of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, Amy has always been fascinated by the intersection of water, land, human cultures, and language. After a stint on the East Coast earning a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology at Yale University, she returned to the West for a PhD from the University of Arizona and seeded her career as a consultant.
Amy is a founding partner of AMP Insights, where she applies strategic research and creative communications to the confounding social, legal, and practical challenges of water scarcity and climate change. She also serves as an Adjunct Research Scientist with the University of Arizona Southwest Center, is a Palmer Land Conservancy Board Trustee, and participates in a wide range of ecological, climate, and water-focused research collaborations.
As an added bonus, lunch will be provided at the event, ensuring you can nourish your body while feeding your passion for conservation. However, space is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot as soon as possible. Join us for an enriching event of connection, education, and empowerment. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the conservation issues that matter most to our community, our families, and our daily lives. Let's unite at Women in Action and advance towards a greener, more sustainable future. We look forward to seeing you on February 13!
