Why do you love Colorado?
Back to blog feedAs the first snowfall blankets Colorado, we’re reminded of the magic that winter brings to our incredible landscape.
The water for next year’s blooms.
Crisp air.
Shimmering peaks.
Peaceful moments in nature.
Each invites us to pause and appreciate the place we’re so fortunate to call home.
As someone who chose Colorado as my home, I’m drawn to its world-class outdoor recreation, locally grown food, iconic wildlife, breathtaking scenery, and the precious water that sustains it all. Here, I live the Colorado Good Life—a lifestyle deeply connected to land and water.
Whether you’ve been enjoying this way of life for generations or are just starting, Colorado’s landscapes offer endless freedom, adventure, and the chance to connect with nature. It’s a place where beauty and life are seamlessly intertwined, inspiring and giving us a sense of belonging.
The Colorado Good Life is protected by bold, forward-thinking conservation efforts. I firmly believe that conservation—the protection of Colorado’s most precious land and water—is for everyone. Its benefits touch every person who calls Colorado home or treasures its landscapes. From supporting local farmers to safeguarding the water that irrigates crops to preserving the open spaces that fuel our adventures, conservation ensures the land and water we love remain for generations to come.
That’s why I am a proud donor member of Palmer Land Conservancy.
Since its founding in 1977, Palmer Land Conservancy’s mission has been to protect land and water for the benefit of people and nature in Colorado. As a local conservation leader, Palmer has earned a reputation for innovative, community-driven solutions that balance environmental needs and the state’s growing population.
From protecting critical wildlife habitats of iconic critters like bighorn sheep and elk to preserving productive farmland and ensuring reliable water sources, Palmer's work reflects a deep commitment to the cultural, economic, and ecological well-being of the communities it serves. With over 220 square miles of land and water protected, Palmer is shaping the future of conservation, one landscape at a time.
Through community-powered initiatives, Palmer helps protect and steward the best of Colorado by focusing on four strategic conservation priorities.
Land for People - Celebrating and connecting people to parks, open spaces, and urban green spaces, bringing nature to everyone.
Land for Nature - Sustaining the health and resilience of landscapes that support wildlife, biodiversity, and waterways.
Land for Food - Strengthening rural communities and economies by protecting local farms and ranches, ensuring access to local food for all Coloradans.
Water for Life - Leading large-scale water initiatives that balance the needs of communities and nature in the arid West
While Palmer powers community-driven conservation that protects the Colorado Good Life, who makes that work possible?
People do.
